MoL inks agreements with 20 firms to benefit UAE citizens

The Ministry of Labour (MoL) has recently signed agreements with 20 public and private firms to further benefit UAE citizens working in the private sector through the ‘Absher’ initiative.

The memos, which will be activated this coming February, were signed last Wednesday by HE Mubarak Saeed Al Dhaheri Undersecretary of the Ministry of Labour, in the presence of His Excellency Humaid bin Deemas Al-Suwaidi, Assistant Undersecretary for Labour Affairs, and HE Nasser Al-Hamli, Assistant Undersecretary for Technical Office at the Ministry of Presidential Affairs.

Absher lists 50 partners from government and private sector firms in the UAE. Al Dhaheri called upon other government and private companies to join the program, “This agreement confirms the new partners commitment towards integrating our development plans of enhancing UAE citizens participation in the private sector, which is considered an important and dynamic sector,” Al Dhaheri said.

The list of added up discounts received from those 20 institutions include, multiple discounts offered by Majid Al Futtaim Group through their shops that are scattered across shipping centers, in addition to Naboodah Group, which gives discounts on cars, tickets and tires, as well as the Sharjah Cooperative Society, which will provide ‘Absher’ card holders special discounts on purchases, and special car insurance. The International hospital will offer a discount of up to 30 per cent.

Al-Shirawi companies in Dubai will offer discounts up to 20 per cent on A/c units, 25 per cent on Auto Parts and 10 per cent on JFC Products. RAK Driving Academy offers discounts up to 15 per cent on the theoretical training fees and 10 per cent on practical training fees, and MVP appliances Abu Dhabi offer discounts up to 20 per cent on all household appliances plus installation and free delivery. The list also included Al-Tawash group providing discounts of up to 30 per cent on all its branches in the UAE. Newadmin Foundation, offers a 50 per cent discount on all training courses offered in Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman. Al Thawb Al watani store offers discounts of up to 30 per cent on its products, as well as discounts offered by Al Madani Group ranging up to 20 per cent.

As well as discounts offered by Carrefour, the Canadian hospital, Ajman Specialist Hospital, Lebanese medical center, Sharjah Consulting Engineers inc., Silkor Center Inc., Kerr Inc., Al Fouaa group, Oasis Investments group and Re’aya group.

The Ministry of Labour is working through ‘Absher’ on registering qualified citizens to join the discounts program after meeting the requirements, such as completing six months work in the private sector and register in the General Pension and Social Security Authority.
